Landmark College is a private college in Putney, Vermont, established in 1985 as the first institution of higher learning to pioneer college-level studies for students with dyslexia and learning differences.

In the fall of 2022, Landmark College turned to Post Captain Consulting to implement a new Slate instance tailored to their distinctive admissions process. With students who learn differently and often apply to multiple programs over time, Landmark needed a system that could reflect their mission, surface the right data at the right time, and simplify both communications and admissions review.

Putting People First with Purpose-Built Solutions

Together with Landmark’s admissions and IT teams, Post Captain set out to design a system that brings complex learning data to the forefront and empowers reviewers with a fuller understanding of each applicant. From seamless PowerCampus integration to clear, actionable reports, every element of the system was built to help Landmark’s team spend less time wrestling with data and more time focusing on students.

To bring this vision to life, we configured custom entities and tests to capture learning styles and accommodations, built data containers in the Slate Reader to support a comprehensive review process, and developed 5-year funnel reports to drive long-term planning. An automated integration process keeps Slate and PowerCampus in sync, freeing the team from manual updates and repetitive tasks.

Guided by Post Captain’s deep understanding of Landmark’s unique needs, the admissions team can now focus more fully on connecting with future Greyhounds rather than wrestling with data management. Looking ahead, Landmark College plans to expand its use of the platform to support onboarding and new student enrollment, bringing the same people-first approach to every step of the student journey.
